Media Training, Publicity and Digital Content
THE CHALLENGE
The Philippines, in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), successfully hosted the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) 2024 from October 14 to 18 held in the PICC. The event brought together over 4,000 delegates, including representatives from governments, civil society, the private sector, and the academe. Our challenge was to amplify visibility for the conference across traditional and digital platforms and elevate the conversation surrounding disaster preparedness.
STRATEGIC STORYTELLING
Stories developed for both traditional and social were aligned in reinforcing three key pillars of 2024 APMCDRR: localization, which emphasizes empowering local communities in DRR efforts; inclusivity, ensuring that all vulnerable groups are part of the process, and no one is left behind; and sustainable financing, aimed at securing long-term funding for DRR initiatives. EON ensured these themes were highlighted in the key pieces of content released on traditional and social media.
WORK THAT SURPRISES
To ensure the amplified visibility of APMCDRR 2024 across all pertinent channels, the team developed an end-to-end PR and content plan, conducted media liaison training and handled social media promotions including live posting and coverage across the 5 days of the event. This ensuring broad public awareness on the importance of disaster preparedness.
SUSTAINABLE CONVERSATIONS
Social Media reach of 4.542M reached both in the Philippines and across the APAC region with engagements on the content of 517K resulting in an engagement rate of 7.81%
Total PR Value of 13.6M on EON-initiated PR content releases, contributing an incremental 6% on total PR Value of APMCDRR 2024 coverage.
