About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Media Relations Manager is primarily responsible for
cultivating, managing, and deepening relationships with the media both locally and abroad. The Media
Relations Manager shall be responsible for the delivery of all required Media Relations services to the
internal client servicing teams and their clients.
Responsibilities
Client Servicing
- Supports the Account Directors and the client servicing teams in the delivery of media relations
requirements of clients, including media events, press conferences, and briefings. - Coordinates and regularly updates client servicing teams relating to their media relations efforts
or initiatives for specific accounts or accounts - Acts as internal media experts when advising the client servicing units on proper media
positioning of messages or stories considering the clients’ communication objectives and
providing useful insights to the client servicing teams related to target media’s profiles, interests,
and needs - Attends client meeting and events
Media Strategy and Outreach
- Coordinates and ensures the accurate and timely release of press kits, press releases, media
invites, and other media materials, and conducts follow up activities as necessary - Monitors both print and digital media coverages such as print, radio, and broadcast pick ups,
blogs, etc. relating to the client, its brands, competitors, and its industry and deliver timely
summaries to the client servicing units - Actively finds opportunities to connect and deepen relations with media organizations and
EON’s network of journalists, editors, bloggers, influencers, and key opinion leaders - Maintains and updates EON’s database of media contacts from various beats and media
organizations
Team Management
- Monitors projects trackers, leads alignment meetings, and provides guidance and constructive feedback to internal team to maximize performance
- Work with the Human Resources team in screening potential team members, assess performance and recommend development plans of existing team members.
Issues and Crisis Management
- Monitors potential issues and supports directions on crisis communications
- Oversees outreach and collaboration with media during sensitive situations, guided by the
agency’s strategy and ensuring messages are clear and consistent - Regularly updates client servicing teams on developments relating to the client’s crisis
Team Development and Management
- Supports the Associate/Account Director and the Human Resources Unit in screening and
recruiting potential team members, assessing performance, and developing their career plans - Ensures that direct reports’ are properly guided and their performance are regularly monitored
and discussed
Qualifications
- Work experience in communication field with at least 5 years in a communication agency setting
- At least 4 years of media and influencer related experience
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role
